I’m back!

Hi everyone!

I haven’t stopped writing for this blog, so please don’t think I’ve disappeared! I’ve had a lot of stuff happen in my life since the last post, and I’ve needed to take a break to sort some of this stuff out!

So, what’s been happening, you ask, my lovely readers?

1. I got out of a bad relationship/got dumped by my (now) ex-boyfriend. I was single for a little bit and was dealing with being pretty depressed and not knowing what to do or how to deal with a lot of the stuff that happened in the relationship.
However, I met someone really wonderful and we have now been together for almost two months 🙂 He has a YouTube channel – check out BenskyBen if you’re into piercings, body modifications and ear stretching. He is also a talented musician and has a lot of nifty videos where he shows just how talented he really is!

2. I’ve been really busy with saving up for a trip to Europe with my family (I’m actually writing this from our hotel room in Germany), so I haven’t had any new products to review! I’ve bought a few products while in Germany, and we’ve still got Paris to go, so I’ll have to do a haul post when I’m back in Australia 🙂

That’s about it!

So, what’s next for the blog, you ask?
Well, I’ve been speaking to my boyfriend, and he’s agreed to help me out with making videos for this blog! I’ve never made a video review before, so it’s pretty exciting.

I’ll also try to post at least one review per week (no promises, though).

Once I get 10 followers on the blog or YouTube account, I’ll be doing a giveaway – once I get my YouTube account up and running, I’ll make a video explaining what will be in the giveaway as well.

Thanks for those who have been patiently waiting for my next post!

6 Easy Nail Art Tutorials

If you’re anything like me, you love nail art, but find it too fiddly (or have shaky hands like I do) to create something amazing. I wanted to share some nail art tutorials with you that are easy to follow and don’t take up your whole day to create, and yet look absolutely amazing at the same time!

What do you think? I usually just stick a nail sticker on my ring finger on both hands, or paint one nail a different colour. That’s about as creative I get with my nails!

These tutorials definitely helped me feel a bit more creative! As mentioned above, I’m going to be trying Vampy Varnish’s Neon 80’s Paint Splatter tutorial tonight – I’ll post photos when I’m done!

Shiro Cosmetics: Custom Lipglosses

Shiro Cosmetics recently announced that they would be making custom lipglosses – basically, you pick a lip-safe colour from their eyeshadow range, and Caitlin from Shiro Cosmetic whips it up into a lipgloss!

Naturally, this excited me because their eyeshadows are amazing – my next scheduled review after this one will be on their eyeshadows – so I ordered 7 different shades.

How I Store My Makeup – Updated!

I realised that my last post on how I store my makeup is extremely outdated! I was sick of constantly pulling the top drawer out to get my makeup out and it just looked….bad. So, last month, I decided to utilize the “spare” room in my house (my sister’s bedroom – she’s moved out of home now), and I have now set up my own little makeup desk!

If you’re interested in seeing how I organise my makeup now, and some affordable ways to store your makeup, please keep reading 🙂

Glamour Doll Eyes/Teri Brown Collaboration

Glamour Doll Eyes and author Teri Brown have recently released a collaboration called Born of Illusion, based on the Teri Brown’s latest novel by the same title.

I had the honour of hosting the Twitter launch party on the 15th May – Teri Brown had contacted me after taking the time out of her busy schedule to look at my humble blog, and asked if I would be able to host the launch party on Twitter. Of course I said yes!

If you were unable to make it to Twitter for the launch party, I have a transcript of the questions and answers below:

E.L.F. Haul

Finally received my package from E.L.F on Friday evening! (My family only checks our post office box once a week, so I have to wait until Fridays to get all of my packages).

I spent last night taking photos and quickly playing the products and doing some quick swatches. I had the chance to wear some of the products today, so I’ll be able to write a more in depth review on those.

On to the haul~!

Buying Cosmetics Online: How To Spot A Fake

If you’re like me, you buy a lot, if not all, of your cosmetics online. Now, I have been extremely lucky that all of the MAC products I have purchased online (6 or so) have not been fakes, and I will no longer be purchasing cosmetics off eBay.

There are a few different ways in which you can spot a fake rather easily. One way, however, to avoid this is to buy your MAC products, or any makeup products, from authorised stores and re-sellers. For Australians, department store David Jones has MAC counters, or you can purchase MAC products on Please don’t waste your money and risk your health buying supposedly MAC products off eBay. These products are going on your face. There could be absolutely anything in those products.

There is a website where you can enter in the batch number from a range of selected cosmetics, and it will tell you the date of manufacture and the shelf life left. It’s called Check Cosmetic, and I’ve tried it with all my MAC products (including the ones I’ve purchased from their counter and online store), and they’ve all come up!

This blog post is also extremely informative, and helps you do some detective work on any of your products that you may suspect are counterfeit!

Also, on a side note – brushes. MAC does not sell their brushes in a brush roll – they are all sold separately. Please be mindful of this. If it’s too good (or cheap) to be true, then it probably is.

Take care.
